No worries!

Not sure what kind of news made it out, but last night several of the guys were awakened in the middle of the night by a little rumbling. It turns out that a LONG ways away there was a light earthquake. It was nothing big here, but didn't want anyone at home freaking out if it was mentioned in the news. Work is going well, but we are getting tired. Be blessed.

Sorry.........again!

Just wanted to take a minute to apologize to all of you. Internet connection isn't what I had hoped for. Therefore, it takes a huge act of God to do anything online. Work is progressing, but we have met several hindrances and obstacles along the way. Please continue to pray for us as we strive to accomplish our projects. I will do a huge update when we get home or I get wireless, whichever comes first.

We made it!

We have arrived at el Coro safe and sound. It was a long day...21 hours from start to finish! Upon our arrival we were greeted warmly and graciously at the airport by many of our Colombian brothers and sisters. At the camp, Meryl, Jeanette, and Adrianna had snacks and coffee ready.

I slept well.

It's time for breakfast so that's all you get for now.

No Weapon Formed Against us Shall Prosper...

It just seems like the weapon shop has been awfully busy manufacturing this week. I'm not sure why, but this trip has been met with quite a bit of opposition; from health to weather and everything inbetween, but I still stand on the Rock of Christ Jesus and I shall not be moved. Would you stand up there with me and the rest of the team on this trip? Would you support us with your prayers? With this much opposition, I dare to dream what mighty works my God has in store!!!

The next post you get should be coming to you live, from the top of the Andes Mountains! God is good.

PS...you may be wondering if I did it. YEP! Both of my bags weighed in at 49.4 pounds each. That's .6 pounds under the limit, and that's close enough for me!

Have you seen my stuff???

OK, its Sunday night. I'm watching Hawaii 5-O and being a slob. I have yet to begin packing...make that yet to begin assembling my stuff to get ready to pack. I'm fairly certain I should be freaking out about this, but I just cant muster the energy for that right now. I'm tired.

Tomorrow will be a frenzy! That's what I'm telling myself, but I bet I look more like the fat lineman from Green Bay who ran one in for a touchdown today...lots of action, but little progress. (Yikes, the dog just passed gas and its pretty bad!)

Tomorrow is also a special day...my lovely friend and helpmate and co-director of family affairs, celebrates a new decade. I dont know how she does it, but she is far more captivating and beautiful than she was 20 years ago when we first "hooked up." Without her support and encouragement this or any other trip just wouldn't be possilbe. I'm so thankful God has given me a wife that always wants and works to make me better at following the footsteps of Jesus.

If you have a few minutes in the next 2 weeks, check back in and hear about the progress we're making on our trip. We are returning to Cali, Colombia to ascend the Andes Mountains to camp el Coro to finish the wiring project we started last year and to replace at least one floor of a camp building. If you have a few more minutes, why not take the time to say a prayer for us too. Nothing worth doing can be accomplished without the prayers of God's people. Who knows, one of these days you may be on one of these trips with me and find yourself relying on the prayers of folks back home!

And speaking of folks back home, God has really burdened my heart with a project for us to do in Paducah. When I get back, I will be in contact with the Habitat for Humanity folks to see what we need to do to get a build going in our neck of the woods.

Time to go switch out laundry. By for now.

Time for another trip to el Coro

Well, we leave for Colombia in less than a week. As always, I will be trying yet another means of e-communication. Supposedly, the guy at Best Buy said my iPad will work there. So this is a trial post from home. Please pray for us, as already a few obstacles have presented themselves. Mountains Move! I have neither the time, energy or patience to go around!
